As medical components get smaller and more specialised, Waterjet Micro Cutting becomes the best solution

FlowCut Waterjet Cutting specialises in Microjet Cutting ﹘ Waterjet Cutting at the micro level.

This technique is the solution for both 2D and 3D Cutting work that requires extremely high precision  ﹘ like the fine parts and micro components used in the medical industry.

Not only is Microjet Cutting a very suitable technique to manufacture medical implants and (tiny) parts and components used in medical equipment, we can also cut components that are part of larger laboratory applications. To co-create components as part of medical and laboratory equipment, we apply 3D Microjet Cutting and 2D Microjet Cutting.

Medical components are getting tinier and tinier

Precision and accuracy are required

The techniques and cutting process we use fit perfectly with the demands of the medical technology industry. Complete precision and accuracy are required, which becomes much more challenging as the medical components are getting tinier and tinier with the advancement of technology. The materials most commonly used in this industry are stainless steel and titanium.

Stainless steel: durable and non-corrosive

Almost every type of material can be cut through our waterjet cutting method. Lots of cutting possibilities are available for use with stainless steel. This type of steel is an alloy, often composed of:

  • Chrome
  • Iron
  • Carbon
  • Nickel

Steel is named ‘Stainless Steel’ when it’s alloy is composed of at least 11-12% chrome, and contains a maximum of 1.2% carbon. This material is suitable to be cut in tiny parts, as well as the largest possible components . It is sustainable, durable and non-corrosive.

Titanium is a metal, well known for its non-corrosive nature. It is lightweight, but also very strong. The metal can withstand the most extreme changes of temperature.

Titanium alloys are therefore often applied in the aerospace and aviation industry, for the construction of rockets and planes.

We are an ISO 9001 and AS9100C certified company.

Prevention of deformation and change of structure

The high tech machines in FlowCut’s Waterjet Cutting plant prevent parts and components from changing in structure or from deformation. This is crucial because our cutting techniques for these dimension-sensitive devices must meet the highest standards. And we do. We are an ISO 9001- and  AS9100C-certified company. Quality is what we pride ourselves on.

Your bottom line is important to us

Cost reduction is one of the main advantages of applying the Waterjet Cutting methods in manufacturing medical components. Our state-of-the-art software also enables us to meet the highest possible grade of efficiency, due to its intelligent nesting capabilities .

Reliability is a subject that is high on our agenda.
We always opt for long term relationships

Reliability is a subject that is high on our agenda. The right materials at the right level of quality delivered at the right location… and on time!  Our logistics process is designed to meet the reliability expectations of our clients. As one of the largest suppliers of Waterjet Cut products in Europe and the first and only Waterjet cutting company in The Netherlands that specialises in Waterjet Cutting of high precision products with very tight tolerances, FlowCut Waterjet Cutting is a key partner in the supply chain of many OEMs. High quality and delivery reliability play an important role in that partnership.
And we always, always strive to sustain long term relationships.
